Mr. Quentin Turner
I am honored to serve as the Principal of Rainbow Elementary School. My educational journey began at Stillman College, where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I later earned both a Master’s Degree and an Educational Specialist Degree from The University of West Alabama, along with Instructional Leadership Certification from Jacksonville State University.
My career in education began in the classroom, where I taught for six years across 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades. These experiences strengthened my passion for teaching and learning and provided a strong foundation for my leadership journey.
In 2012, I became an Instructional Partner in Tuscaloosa City Schools, where I worked closely with the Alabama Best Practices Center to support teachers through instructional coaching and classroom collaboration. In 2019, I transitioned to Madison County Schools as a Reading Coach, serving for three years and focusing on literacy instruction, teacher support, and student achievement.
In May 2022, I was named Assistant Principal at Midtown Elementary School, where I gained valuable leadership experience and developed a deeper understanding of school operations, student support, and instructional leadership. After two successful years at Midtown, I was honored to be named Principal of Rainbow Elementary School.
I am passionate about building strong relationships with students, staff, and families while creating a positive, student-centered learning environment where every child can thrive. I believe in the power of collaboration, high expectations, and continuous growth as we work together to ensure success for all students.
My wife, Erica and I have two wonderful sons, Landon who attends James Clemens High School and Locklin who atteds Rainbow. We enjoy sports, traveling, and spending time with family. I am committed to establishing and maintaining positive relationships with faculty, staff, parents, and community stakeholders in order to build a foundation that will enable all students to continue high academic success. Rockets, let’s SOAR!3
